The Deckchair originated during the golden age
of ocean liner travel, its advantages being that it was easily moved, easily stackable and had several adjustable seating
positions.
Its simple design has endured and has resulted in variations on a theme, with the addition of armrests,
footrests and a sun canopy, but the basic principles of the Deckchair have remained the same.
